The best halloumi burger! We went here once a week during summer just to have this amazing burgers. Beef burger is also great but if you prefer vegetarian burger this is the place. They also have massive garden with lots of different sections so there is lots of space.

Food ok for the price although it used to be better. Could do with a clean as it is grubby and don't ask about the carpets! All in all we will not be going back anytime soon.

Always a great pub with great food and staff. I'm not immediately local but eat here three or four times a month and food has always been delicious. They get it right by being relaxed but timely and efficient and it shows. We know it as the Riser and it's once a year Millfest music festival is great for all ages. Keep it up all and we'll done

I took my family for Sunday lunch at The Rising Sun yesterday and I have to say it was outstanding. I am not a person to leave reviews online but I do feel our experience warrants this. When we arrived the pub was packed with customers, which is always a good sign, and we were served a drink within minutes and handed menus. Both the adult and children's menus read superbly and had lots and lots of choice. My wife and I ordered the roast beef and it was the best beef I have ever eaten in a pub. Perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. The service was also of the highest standard. Great wine and drinks menu and a fabulous garden for the kids to run around in. This pub is really hitting its straps. Infact it was so good I am going to book my company Christmas do there in December. Thank you to all the staff and indeed Ben the landlord for the perfect Sunday afternoon.

We went here last weekend on our way back from the beach. The staff were fantastic albeit very busy with it being Sunday lunchtime. They set our expectations on how long food would be and when it arrived the quality was fantastic. Simple pub food but done right with quality ingredients, will definitely go back.

Had a fab supper. Squid was delicious. Fish and chips were classic and purée peas to die for. Pudding was unbelievably rich and stunning - salted caramel and chocolate tart

Had a rather unexpectedly poor meal, the squid was not as good as previous visits and left a member of the party feeling ill. However the steak and scotch egg was perfect and reasonably priced for a set lunch, overall a rather mediocre meal as I've come to expect better

The best steak I'd had in 6 years since I was last in Paris in an Argentinian steak restaurant. The gluten free brownie was sublime. A bit under staffed so waited a while though.

Normally give this 5 stars but wasn't so great today. My steak frites arrived warm & not hot, the creme brulee was a bit watery, the soft drinks arrived with the bottle tops still on, needing an opener to undo them. Service not up to the normal high standard. Hoping it will be back up to speed by our next visit. 🙄

An enjoyable afternoon, but food could have been better, fish cakes were burnt and ham was not off the bone. Service slow. But waiter excellent

Busy pub, good food even on a Monday, service a bit slow at times but worth it.

Having been to the Rising Sun many times before, this time was disappointing. Each time we visit friends in Rogate they book a table. My chicken ceasar salad was an unmitigated disaster. Sodden lettuce with a lump of unskinned chicken dumped on the the top. Chips on another main were not properly cooked with ham dried up at the edges and less than fresh eggs, was passed up after one mouth full. Two other main plates poorly presented. Complaint was met with, we only have one chef on today. The starters were OK as were post mains. All in all a poor dining experience which has resulted in a group decision not to visit again.

Consistently good food and beer. Friendly busy staff. Plenty of space if you want to sit outside. Busy kitchen, busy pub, good value.
